Hiroshima & Nagasaki Day 2020

We would like to invite all CND member and supporters to join us as we gather to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Please note that social distancing guidelines must be followed at all times.

10:15: Gather at  LCVS, 151 Dale Street, (near the Birkenhead tunnel )

We will then proceed, via William Brown Street, with banners and placards to St. John’s Garden

11:00: Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Anna Rothery, will lay a wreath in memory of all the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and make a short speech about the atomic bombings. This will be followed by a minute’s silence.

There will then be poems, survivors’ testimonies and music from members and friends, followed by the Peace Prayer.

Everyone is welcome to join us in proceeding to the front steps of St. George’s Hall for quiet discussion and reflection.
